Limitation of Liability

The contents of FIOPS.org are written with great care. However, the Forensic Institute of Physical Security (FIOPS) can not be held responsible for the correctness, completeness and actuality of the provided contents. The contents of FIOPS.org are used at the visitors own risk. Contents tagged by name display the views of the particular author and not always the views of FIOPS. No contractual relationship is formed between the user and FIOPS by the sole use of FIOPS.org.

Referrals and Links

FIOPS.org contains links to third party websites (external links). These websites and their contents underlie the legal liability of the respective operator. Whenever a new link is placed on FIOPS.org, the foreign website is reviewed regarding possible legal violations. At the time of placing the links on FIOPS.org no legal violations were evident. FIOPS has no imfluence on the current and future design and contents of linked websites. Placing external links does not mean FIOPS is making the content behind the link its own. A permanent control of the content behind external links can not be expected of FIOPS without any indication of legal violations by the target website. Should FIOPS gain knowledge about legal violations by a target website, the link to that website will be removed immediately.

Copyright and Intellectual Property

the contents of FIOPS.org underlie European (EU) copyright and intellectual property laws. Any use not permitted by the EU copyright and intellectual property laws requires prior written permission by FIOPS or the respective rightholder. This is especially true for duplication, editing, translation, storing, processing and reproduction of contents in databases or other electronic devices and systems. Contents and rights of third parties are marked as such. The unlawful duplication or circulation of individual contents or complete pages is not allowed and punishable. Only copies and downloads for personal, private and non-commercial use are allowed when stating the source as a hyperlink. The display of this website in foreign frames is only allowed with written consent by FIOPS.

Data Protection

When visiting FIOPS.org information about the access (date, time, page viewed) may be stored. This data are non-personal, but anonymized. They are solely used for statistical purposes. The data is not passed on to third parties for commercial or non-commercial use.
FIOPS points out, that the data-transfer over the internet (e.g. communicating by e-mail) may have security vulnerabilities and may not fully protect from third parties accessing your data.
The use of the contact details given on FIOPS.org for commercial use is strictly prohibited, unless FIOPS has given prior written permission or a business relation is already existant. FIOPS and all persons mentioned on this website hereby object any commercial use and disclosure of their data.

Personal Data

As far as technically possible and reasonable, you can use FIOPS.org without providing personal data or with anonymized data or an alias. This data is not passed on to third parties without your explicit consent. If you intend to establish a contractual relation with FIOPS or send a request to FIOPS, FIOPS will collect and use your personal data as far as this is necessary for this purpose. FIOPS collects, processes and uses your personal data as far as it is necessary in order to enable you to use the services of FIOPS.
All personal data is only stored for as long as this is necessary for the respective purpose (Answering your request or fulfilling a contract). Retention periods demanded by tax- and trade-laws will be attended to. On ordinance by the appropriate institutions FIOPS will provide your personal data for the purpose of prosecution, protection against threats and for fulfillment of lawful duties of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution or the Military Counter-Intelligence Service or for enforcement of intellectual property rights.

Facebook

FIOPS.org uses plugins from Facebook.com, which are provided by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. Users of FIOPS.org are hereby notified that a connection to Facebook is established through these plugins, connecting to your browser in order to make the plugin appear on FIOPS.org.
Furthermore, by using these plugins information about your visit to FIOPS.org is sent to the Facebook servers. For users logged in to their Facebook-account, this means the information about your visit to FIOPS.org can be linked to your Facebook-account.
As soon as you use the Facebook-plugin as a logged-in Facebook-user (e.g. by clicking a “share”-button), this data will be transferred and published to your Facebook-account. You can only circumvent this by logging out of your Facebook-account. Google+

FIOPS.org uses the „Google +1“-button of the social network Google+, which is provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. The button can be recognized by the „G+“. If you are registered with Google+, you can show your interest in FIOPS.org with the “G+”-button and share contents of FIOPS.org on Google+. In this case Google saves the information that you gave a “+1” for FIOPS.org, as well as information about the page you were looking at. Your “Google+1” may be displayed on Google+ and other Google-services, such as the Google-search, or your Google-profile together with your name (and picture, if you have set one in your Google-profile).

Twitter

A plugin of the web-messenger-service Twitter is integrated into FIOPS.org. This service is provided by Twitter Inc., 1355 Market St, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA. Twitter offers so called “Tweets”, messages of 140 sign length which may include links, that can be pubished on your Twitter-account. If you use the Tweet-function on FIOPS.org, the respective page will be linked with your account on Twitter and may be published there. At the same time data is transferred to Twitter.
We do not get notified about the content of the data sent to twitter and how this data is used. Therefore, for further information please consult the Twitter privacy policy at http://twitter.com/privacy. Twitter offers you to adjust your privacy settings yourself at http://twitter.com/account/settings.

Google Analytics

FIOPS.org uses Google Analytics, a website analytic service provided by Google inc. Google Analytics uses so called “cookies”, text files that are stored on your computer and which enable an analysis of your use of FIOPS.org. The information generated by the cookie about your use of FIOPS.org will be tranferred to a server of Google in the USA and be stored there. FIOPS has activated IP-anonymization on FIOPS.org. Therefore, your IP-adress will be shortened when visiting FIOPS.org from the European Union or other contract partners of the European Economic Area. Only in rare exceptions your full IP-adress will be transferred to the servers of Google and be shortened there. On behalf of FIOPS, Google will use this information to analyze your use of FIOPS.org, to generate reports on website activity and to fulfil other services related to website use and internet use for FIOPS. The IP-adress sent by your browser to Google Analytics will not be joined with any other data from Google.
